Grasses can grow in many different environments; some species could grow in severe conditions. Research on plants that could grow and adapt to pollutants will enable scientists to propose methods of remediating the environment by plant technology. In this article, we introduce 25 species of grasses that could grow, adapt, accumulate metal and serve as indicators of polluted environments. Among them 10 species could grow and adapt to pollutants, 13 species could accumulate heavy metals, 1 species could accumulate SO2, NO2 and NO3, 3 species could grow in gasoline-polluted soil, 5 could serve as bio-indicators of pollution. These species need further research for remediation of polluted environment in Vietnam.
