The Capparaceae in the flora of Vietnam has about 55 species and varieties and 7 genera which include many useful species. Medicinal plants with 19 species and varieties, representing 35 percent of total species, include some important species such as Capparis micracantha, Cleome gynandra, Cleome viscosa, Crateva religiosa. Food plants (vegetable, fruit) with 16 species and varieties are from the genera Capparis, Cleome, Crateva, and Stixis. Wood comes from Capparis (Capparis flavicans, Capparis grandis), Crateva (Crateva magna, Crateva religiosa, Crateva roxburghii, Crateva unilocularis). Ornamental plants are Cleome speciosa, Cleome spinosa, etc. In addition, some species and varieties provide different uses such as bark for making incense, pericarp as dyeing material, etc.
