Last modified on 11/8/2010 at 3:15:00 PM. Total 6412 views.

Lumnitzera x rosea is the hybrid species between Lumnizera littorea and Lumnitzera racemosa. Its pollen has three morphology types: six lobes (22.83 ± 0,35 µm- apex view) with ratio 61.88 %, equilateral triangle with short swells (29.92±0,48 µm-apex view) 15.37 %, equilateral triangle with long swells (33.19±0,53 µm –apex view) with 22.75 %. Fertile pollen is 35.98 % and sterile pollen is 64.02 %. It has intermediate pollen morphology between its putative parents. Lumnitzera x rosea’s pollens have same pollen morphology as pollen of L. littorea (equilateral triangle with short swells) and L.  racemosa (six lobes). Particularly, equilateral triangle with long swells pollen type is only found in Lumnitzera x rosea. Diploid chromosome numbers of Lumnitzera x rosea are 22 chromosomes (2n =22).
