From May 2006 to August 2007 we studied the medicinal plants of Thai people in Chau Phong commune, Que Phong district, Nghe An province. The species composition of medicinal plants is fairly diverse. They belong to 169 species, 139 genera and 68 families in 3 divisions (Polypodiophyta, Pinophyta and Magnoliophyta). The largest division is the Magnoliophyta which comprises about 97.64% of all species. An analysis of life-forms, distribution, parts used, and also manner of use was conducted. Among them there are 21 medicinal plants recorded for the first time based on their absence in the dictionary of medicinal plants in Vietnam 1997.
