The Khau Ca forest was located on the Easter-Northern of Ha Giang province, on the buffer zone of Du Gia and Bac Me natural conserve areas and its area was about 1000ha. This forest was habitat of Tonkin snub-nose monkey, one of valuable species and endemic langur for the world. The forest was looked as primary within almost areas of Khau Ca, so that the study of forest structure and vegetation success would find out the foundation for conservation habitat of Tonkin snub-nose monkey. In implementation, 4 survey trails were opened to observe the monkey’s habits and monitor the phenology of forest trees and it was also used in vegetation study. As the results, 4 types and sub-types of forest were described. The first one was tropical ever green close rainfall and moisture forest on the low land and the soil-subtype was on exhausted water on limestone. The second type was tropical ever green close rainfall and moisture forest on the low mountain and also with soil-subtype was on exhausted water on limestone and domination of Excentrodendron tonkinense + Nageia fleuryi. The third type was tropical open ever green moisture forest on the low mountain and also with native regional-subtype that was domination of Garcinia spp. + Acer spp. or conifers + oak. The last one was secondary forest that origin similar with the first type. And otherwise, the secondary grass or shrubs were considered as domination of Dicrano pteris or Chromolean odorata + Imperata cylindrical. The vegetation success base on the existing of series of currently vegetation types was established from secondary plant communities to secondary forests as middle communities and final status of climax forest as the forest types in first and second.
