The whole stems of Mesona chinensis were divided into different parts: roots, stolons, leaders and axillary buds. These plant parts can be used as propagative materials. The propagation success rate of roots, stolons, leaders and axillary buds after 30-days are 98%, 95%, 94% and 96%, respectively. Fresh and dry productivity of leader cuttings are the highest (6300g/m2 and 825g/m2, respectively). The growth of whole and leader cuttings is the same and they are higher than others. Area output of new method is 1.885 times more than the traditional method using whole stems.
