Plant Biodiversity of Angiosperm in Tam Dao National Park

Tam Dao National Park is situated from 21 o21’ to 21o42’ north and 105o23’ to 105o44’ east and covers three provinces: Vinh Phuc, Thai Nguyen anh Tuyen Quang. This is a large mountain range 80 km long stretching from northwest to southeast, from Son Duong district (Tuyen Quang Province) to Binh Xuyen district (Vinh Phuc Province). The effects of topography, altitude, climate, hydrology and human impacts, in combination with the different ecological characteristics of each plant, result in the diversity of species in the area. The flora of Tam Dao National Park is diverse and distributed in many different habitats including brushwood, grass-plot, and timber is soil and stone mountains. Statistics show that the number of species of the angiosperm is 1.463 (92,24% of plant species) belonging to 741 genera and 219 families. Among these species, 1.143 are useful in 14 different ways, 46 are unique in Red Data Book of Viet Nam (2007), 24 are lised in Government Degree 32/NĐ-CP/2006.
