Based on IUCN criteria 1994, list of Vietnam threatened plants consists of 448 species belonging to175 genera of 111 families in 7 divisions. Among them, one species is listed as Extinct in the wild (EW), 45 species  are Critically endangered (CR), 189 species are Endangered (EN), 209 species  are Vulnerable (VU) and 4 species are in Lower risk (LR). They almost are timbertree, herb and shrub which reprocess by bud or seed. They mainly distribute in moutain, at app. 700m alt such as in Northwest, Northeastern, Tay Nguyen regions. They are valuable both in science and use. This threatened plant situation was mainly the result of destroyable habitat, non rational exploitation by human. In order to protect the plants, it is recommended to deploy in-situ conservation, propagation and sustainable expoitation.. In future, to meet all criteria of IUCN further researches are needed.
