Cat Loc is the north part of Cat Tien National Park in the province of Lam Dong. The flora of this area is relatively rich and contains a mixture of tropical from southern and native compounds. It is also supported by many plants from typical monsoon forest. There are 774 species belonging to 510 genera in 151 families of 5 divisions: Magnoliophyta (692 species, 464 genera, 124 families), Pinophyta (4 species, 3 genera, 3 families), Polypodiophyta (72 species, 39 genera, 21 families), Lycopodiophyta (5 species, 3 genera, 2 families), Psilotophyta (1 species, 1 genus, 1 family). In Magnoliophyta, the Magnoliopsida has greater number of taxa (family, genus and species) than Liliopsida does. The number of family, genus and species in Magnoliopsida are about 3 times more than those in Liliopsida. The mean number of species for each family is 5.13, the mean number of species per genus is nearly 1.52 and the mean number of genera per family is 3.38. The mean number of taxa (family, genus and species) in Cat Loc are all the lowest of those in: Cuc Phuong, Pu Mat, Bach Ma and Sapa - Phansipan. The 10 most diverse families (6.62%) contain 145 genera representing 28.43% of the total genera and 252 species representing 32.56% of the total species of the flora. The 8 species - rich genera (1.57%) contain 59 species representing 7.6% of the total species of the flora.
