Biodiversity of flora at Ben En national park, Thanh Hoa province

1.      The flora of Ben En national park has recorded with 749 species, 459 genera and 138 families that belonging to 5 divisions of vascular plants: Lycopodiophyta, Psilotophyta, Polypodiophyta, Gymnospermae and Angiospermae. Among them, species of Angiospermae are dominant with 679 species of 90,7% , after Polypodiophyta 54 species of 7, 28% and the remainder with low rate. For Angiospermae, Dicotyledoneae are dominant with 575 species of 84,68% of total species of the Division.

2.      Indeces of the flora: Family index 5,43, Genus index 1,63 and the average number of species per family 3,33 lower than those of Bach Ma, Ou Mat, Cuc Phuong and Sa Pa floras.

3.      Among 138 families, there are 10 most diverse families of 212 species (28.84%) and 125 genera (27.23%): Euphorbiaceae, Fabaceae, Rubiaceae

4.      Rich-species genera: Mallotus, Desmosdium, Castanopsis, Ficus, Ardisia, Hydeotis,...with 67 species (8.95%%).

5.      Ben En’s flora contents 12 threatened species base on Vietnam Red Data book (1996)
