The Tay people in Viet Lam (Vi Xuyen dist., Ha Giang province) useful gathers medical plants to treat diseases, care health and improve economic income.
Local people collect more than 400 medical plant species, which belong to 104 families. Some families that have a great of species are used such as Fabaceae (25 species), Euphorbiaceae (19 species) Asteraceae (18 species), Rutaceae (12 species), Solanaceae (11 species), Moraceae(11 species) .
Besides using in nature, some families have growing medical plants in their gardens. Growing has conserved and developed some high economic value and frequency gathered species. This model needs to increase in oder to conserve and develop sustainable these valuable resources.
