The vegetation of Ha Mai island

Ha Mai island is a small island in the Central part of Bac Bo bay with area 2.4km2, located 20o4243 -  20o4320 N latitude, 107o2647 - 107o2850 E longitude. Topography: hill with the elevation below 200m; climate: average temperature 22-23oC, yearly amplytude temperature: 11-13oC, winter time and dry season prolong for 4 months , from December to March, annual rainfall: 1700-1800 mm. The vegetation is described, devided on the base of structure and composition follow: a. On the zonal soil (bed rock: sand stone D1đs): 1. Secondary forest, 2. Secondary scrub, 3. Secondary grass land; b. On the anazonal soil (on the rock terrace): 4. Scrub; c. On the intrazonal soil: 5. Secondary flood scrub and secondary flood grass land, 6. Mangrove ; d. On the rock coas: 7. Scrub.
